Winter Activties

The Sierra Madre Mountains are located along the Wyoming-Colorado border in southeastern Wyoming.

The Sierra Madres make for a great day of snow machining with all types of terrain.  The twenty five miles that follow Wyoming Highway 70 are filled with great views and many places to take that special picture and some off trail play areas.  If you want the deep powder experience then consider the marked, but not groomed, trails on the map.

Beautiful trails exist for novice and advanced skiers.  In addition to designated cross country ski trails, almost all snowmobile trails are also accessible to skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding.

The annual Saratoga Lake Ice Fishing Derby has been held at Saratoga Lake the third weekend of January

every year since 1983. In 2017, it was voted “Best Annual Event”.
